Backgammon Blitz League - Signups & Open Discussions Dear friends, As many of you suggested, this would serve as a separate thread for the proposed new league for fast players (hence the name)... we plan to have a round-robin tournament starting August 1st and wanted to see how many people would have a desire to play in it. Let’s discuss the format and rules - I would propose 1 day per move maximum but it is all up to us - please feel free to suggest any ideas. I was planning to utilize Google Sheets to keep the scores (link to follow), but if anyone has any other hosting solutions, please feel free to submit it in this thread. We will finalize the rules and the roster close to month end in order to start promptly on August 1st. I am sure if everyone plays fast, we can have the tournament finished quickly! All best, Leoton |

Yes I’m in. One question—how do you set up a 1-day limit game?? When I try to start a game or challenge a player the lowest option it gives is a 2-day. Also I would propose that we include the extra scoring for gammons and backgammons. This would add an element of strategy—say if you were far ahead or far behind in points, you might need to change up your play. What do you guys think? |

@jim You are right, looks like the lowest threshold is two days per move in ZE. I guess we will have to rely on players commitment to play fast, since it can’t be enforced. Extra points for gammons/backgammon is an interesting idea, or we could think of using the cube too. Let’s keep the ideas coming and we finalize the rules and format closer to month end. Thanks for joining! |

Cube Yeah I would like the cube too. The problem is you have to have a membership to start or challenge a cube game. So 2 non-members playing each other wouldn’t be able to use it. |
