NT7 was contested by a record 20 teams, including newcomers Israel and... Texas.

The five teams that topped the five groups qualified for the knockout stage along with the three best runner-ups. This format saw the Netherlands and Israel unfortunate enough to finish second in their group, yet eliminated from further competition.

As in NT6, all three Iranian teams managed to qualify to the knockout stage, yet, once again, this was Romania's tournament as Mariusadi and company swept away a challenge from a British squad in the final game, to make it three victories in their last five appearances.

Thank you for another well organized tournament with great people.from all over the world.

I believe that it is a big achievement to have 7 editions of an unofficial tournament where it was managed to bring together so many people and for what it was also created a web page.

Congratulations to the host and his helping team, to all the players who remained caught in the action even though it was for more than 3 months and to my team who proved to be very consistent during the whole tournament.

Well done everyone and let's keep the same spirit to the next edition!

Bulgaria brush away the challenge from UK1 to win NT8!

After a record-breaking 20 teams participated in NT7, we went back to 16 teams in NT8 with the old, familiar format: Group leaders and runner-ups qualifying for the knock-out stage.

Apparently, our perennial favourites Romania are only lucky in odd tournaments (NT3, NT5, NT7) and this was no exception as the even NT8 saw new champions claim their very first title.

Bulgaria took over from their neighbours, winning NT8 after demolishing the UK1 team in the final match!
What's even more amazing: they did not draw a single match in this tourney!!!

The oddity of the odd-numbered tournaments continues with Romania again emerging as winners!

Romania started slow with Mariusadi's gang qualifying as runners-up (behind the UK) for the group stage where they first defeated Turkey (making their first appearance in the Nations Tourney).
Romania then spectacularly dumped out last year's winners - Bulgaria - with a 13-3 score in the semi-final.
In the final against the CCCP (formerly CIS), they overcame a 4-1 deficit to win their fourth trophy (NT3, NT5, NT7, NT9) in as many odd-numbered tourneys that they particilated!
