I can’t force anyone to move and while we all agreed to play fast games in the Backgammon Blitz League, the games often can’t be finished “in minutes” due to the time differences.

At the same time, I wanted to reiterate - this is a Blitz League and we should all do our best to complete our tournament games in a very fast manner. Several people are either all done with the group phase or very close to. Others are still behind, so let’s all make sure no one is causing any delays and promptly report results on the BBL-1 RESULTS forum thread.

Don't forget that we signed up for a tournament starting on the first of August. Some people may be busy at the moment.

Great point. We are way ahead of schedule, let’s all have some patience! The way the tournament started it felt like we could finish it by August 1   we are doing just fine in this league.

* The players with numbers 4 and 5 from both groups are the fastest and have finished their games: Beetroot and Blockhin (GR1) and Leoton and Veggiegork (GR2).

** Mariusadi (GR2) has completed only 2 games.

*** Lilwarrior (GR2) has the most wins with gammon (4). Congraz!

**** Esprit (GR2) has the most losses with gammon (2).  

***** Beetroot (GR1), Esprit and Rio (GR2) beat the first two in their groups (highest rating).

I'm retiring to a cool forest (but I'll watch and finish my last game   ) ... hot luck to you all

Friends,

As you know, we began our BBL-1 tournament a week before its official start date, which happens to be today. Happy to report that we are now at about 80% done with the group games!

As I understand, there are still a few games that haven’t been started yet - please review your results on our website: https://tinyurl.com/ze-bbl and see if you still need to challenge any of your remaining opponents. Be proactive and don’t let the remaining games lag! Also, please let me know right away if you’re seeing any errors or unreported results (wins, losses, gammon indicators) and I will promptly make any necessary updates.

Hopefully, we will wrap up our first tournament by the end of next week and I’ll be reaching out to all of you with the quick survey on how to approach subsequent tournaments in our new league. Stay tuned and good luck!
