• | A new letter is dropped onto the board once the previous letter lands on top of another letter or reaches the bottom of the board. |
• | Click on letters to select them, ultimately forming an acceptable word. |
• | Click to the left or right of a falling letter (or press the left or right arrow key) to move it one column in the corresponding direction if space is available. |
• | Click on a falling letter (or press the down arrow key) to make it drop much faster. Once the letter lands, it will be selected if it can be. |
• | Click on any of the selected letters or the 'Submit' button to submit the word for comparision against ZooEscape.com's dictionary. |
• | The selected letters of an accepted word are removed from the board. |
• | If the submitted word is accepted, the score for that word is added to the player's current score. Otherwise, the selected letters are cleared. |
• | A Bonus Letter may be randomly awarded based on word length. The longer the word, the better the chance of receiving a bonus. |
• | Bonuses awarded are 'Double Highest Letter', 'Triple Highest Letter', 'Double Word', and 'Triple Word'. |
• | Double Letter and Triple Letter bonuses are applied first to the highest letter value and then Double and/or Triple Word bonuses are applied. Multiple bonuses of the same type are added. |
• | Unused Bonus Letters expire after 5 attempts. |
• | If the player's current score exceeds their high score, the 'Submit Score' button is enabled and the player may submit their score at that time. |
• | Submitting a high score ends the current game. |
• | The game ends once there are no empty spaces on the board. A high score can be submitted at that time. |
• | The game can be paused, which stops the clock until the game is resumed by pressing the 'Resume' button. |
