Player Communication

I would like to be able to send the person I am playing a message and have them notified that I sent the message.

Now I send a message but don't know if they got it.

I don't know that someone sent me a message unless I check. I would like an email notification so I can reply in a timely manner.

Thanks

Request

Thank you for the effort you put into this site. It is where I play.

I would like to be able to transfer my games into a format that GnuBG and other programs capable of analyzing games, could understand. I think the format is a .MAT. Safe Harbor website automatically saves my games to a savfile folder on my computer. I then open the game up with GnuBG and can have GnuBG do a detailed analysis of the game. It helps to see where I have made mistakes. The mistakes are marked. It has improved my game (some might take except with that) as much as JellyFish has.

Please consider providing our games to us in .MAT format. Thanks.

Formal protest

22nd AD Tourney 3rd Round Group 2-

Fabio87 lost 6 games to two opponents by time outs. He is still playing 3 games with me. The two opponents earned 3 points each. I asked Fabio politely to resign all three games against me. Yet, he kept rolling dice ( I put the same message on all three games for him to see....). This is 3 rd Round and I take this tourney seriously. It is unfair to me because the two opponents have a better chance to advance for 4th or Final Round than me. I depend on Fabio to get few wins against two opponents. I am not going to make a move on all 3 games with Fabio until I hear from ZE..... This is my formal protest. This is not the first time it happened. I am sure some participants have similar experience what I went through.
(Also, for future ZE tourneys, I suggest to have automatic points for opponents if a player runs out of time on all three games against an opponent.).

Steelerhead,

I think if a player lets any one game timeout, then ALL of that player's games should be forfeited to all opponents.

I agree with SH

This is totally unfair that a player forfeits all his games and start playing against another player...I know no1 will hear from ZE official but i will also register my protest about it..If by any chance if u are reading then kindly do it on priority basis as SH is a pioneer and efficient player

A few queries from a new member

I have only just started playing on this site and have a few questions.
1. Is there a way of making the refresh option permanent so that I don't have to keep pushing the Refresh or Auto Refresh buttons. They both seem to stop working once the games have been refreshed once.
2. Why are there no tournaments or a ladder where we can use the doubling cube. I played a lot of backgammon in the 60s and was the Philip Morriss runner-up champion in the mid 70s and I always felt that B/gammon is so much more interesting and a test of skill when using the doubling cube.
3. Would it be possible to include some indication of when our opponents are on-line as in the Gameknot chess site. This is very useful. I find I'm waiting for a reply and don't know whether my opponent is still playing, or gone off to bed or to have a meal.
I look forward to any help with these queries and, as an aside, I think it's a great site!!

Hi,

Apparently, you have to be a paying member to have access to the doubling cube.

I don't know about your refresh button.

Messages need to be more visible. Different spot? Or better notification at top of page?
Messages need to be sent to recipient even if game ends!
Love the site!
PS would be nice if the avatar pictures were a little bigger, they are so small it's difficult to
see the pic most of the time.
