Part of the problem in determining speed of play may be due to the many different time zones. One players best time to play may be when their opponent is asleep. They may have difficulty finding the ideal playing hours. I guess they could be aware of this when starting a game and try to work it out. At least understand where your opponent is living.
Or maybe setting up divisions by time zones for first rounds😊

I don't buy this argument Laurakim, we have players from Europe who are fast, and players from Australia and Asia who are fast; and a couple of the slowest players are from the US, so it's not time zones, but just their unwillingness to play fast (which would be fine, of course, if this were not a "blitz" tournament)

The group stage of the tournament has been completed. The quarterfinals are all set - please remember that unlike the group stage, this is a multi-format, best of three competition for each playoff stage. All four pairs below, please start your three games (1 BG, 1 NG, and 1 AD) simultaneously to speed it up, note “BBL-2 Quarterfinal” in the invite, and report results on the website upon completion of each game. Please contact me if you have any issues.

Congratulations to Schenevmerla, our BBL-2 Champion!

Also, congrats to Steelerhead, the finalist and everyone else who participated! This tournament has lasted less than a month with a 25% increase in the number of participants and adding quarterfinals! Great job everyone to keep the blitz league going!

As a reminder, the BBL-3 signups will be open around mid November with the official start planned for December 1 (the group seeding will be done as usual, 5 days before).

As usual, any improvement ideas are highly welcomed, however I’d like to try to minimize changes from tournament to tournament.
