6-6-quits

Guess some folks don't enjoy the thrill of a come from behind victory.

new rule

hey dullstone...ZE has a new thing where if someone cancels too much...can't remember how often...they are suspended...or something. It must be past my bedtime...but there's a big discussion about it somewhere in here. Maybe someone else can help?

Sounds like a good idea.

After a bunch of losses, I just had to poke a little fun-for some ventage.   No further help required

Once in a while is fine.

I am one of those folks. I have positionally been in good position many times and lost to "TWO" sets or more of high doubles. I have lost 6 times alone to steelerhead and (not his fault) but how much luck can someone get so often from "rescue dice". http://zooescape.com/backgammon.pl?v=200&gid=89558 this game is typical and in this one he gets 3 sets and needs everyone to win. Start from play 11 and see how ridiculous this is. And I can show you many. I love the principle of this site with so many moves per day giving people time and no rush to play but this dice program is unbelievable with a sequence of many low odds rolls turning games around which happens in real life but not as often as here. I have jotted notes once this trend happened and I have lost over 25 games(26) to "TWO" sets of doubles or more and won 2 of them out of 280 games. That's 8%. However, what stands out more is that I have lost 26 out of my 111 loses to this kind of luck. That is an incredible 23%!

Amended comment.

I have to amend the note. The 26 losses are a combination of those two or more sets of doubles(most of them) and a series of low odds rolls to to turn wins into losses not just one bad roll. Many included a series of 5% to 30% rolls all going one way. I made a comment once that getting into a 5 pt board is 30% and when players get in three straight and one stretch was 7 out of 8 times it just isn't right. SO it must be the program somehow and I dont' understand how they are programmed so someon can elighten me.

The dice...

While we appreciate frustrations over the outcome of the dice, we guarantee that our dice are 100% random and we do NOT do any tricks to deviate the dice from true randomness for any reason. It wouldn't make sense for us to tamper with dice in any way because it would always upset one of the opponents. The bottom line is, we do not play games with dice. Please see this FAQ.

Thanks for the reply

I don't know how you could play with them, it just amazes me how often miraculous comebacks have happened against me. My positional play has been great in so many games that the "rescue" dice as I call them turned these games to losses. If they even out over time, I have a lot of games to make up and look forward to it--lol--if they don't and continue for the opponents then I guess venting gets it over with.

Thanks for the reply.

I Agree With CharmedOnes

I appreciate you letting us know you do not "play" with the dice, but I too have had many a winning position overturned by my opponent "rolling" doubles to win......
