![]() I have played ladder on many sites and this is a new format for me. I find that it is virtually impossible to advance since people one-tenth of the way ahead are all with their maximum ladder games. I play players regularly and if I win can`t advance they are too far away. In other ladder sites, players can challenge anyone ahead of them if the player accepts. Therefore, your system is better so players have no choice but to accept within a range but the 1 tenth rule isn't`t good enough. I suggest up to 25 spots maybe even 30 spots could work, and at the least improve the chances. There would be more ladder movement and yet because players can reduce there desired ladder games it still might not work. But moving ladder is more fun than a stagnant ladder with no chance to move. Anyone else with ideas here? |

![]() I have 3 possible challenges I can make right now in the ladder - all below me - so not really in my interests, I would like to be challenging higher! |

![]() Is that there are so few paying members. If more members would get the crowbar out and dust off their wallet, they would be able to play more games, therefore more ladder games. |

![]() Playing more games doesn't mean more ladder games. As COLZMACHINE said, he can only challenge three below him and none above him. This is the point. You can have 100 games to play and not one more ladder game based on the present system. I am playing you now and can play you five or ten more times and not one of them can be ladder since you are too far ahead of me and all those in between show maximum ladder games. |

![]() What i mean is, for sake of argument, we now have 10% paying members and each are willing to play 20 ladder games. If that goes up to 30% paying members that means there are 20% more players willing to play more ladder games, allowing everyone more players to challenge. I did not mean to make it look like you or Chaming were the ones, I was speaking more in general. Right now we have 23 paid members out of 189 players on the ladder. Imagine how many more games would be available if that went up to 69 people willing to fork out less than $3.00 a month. Seems like a pittance for a developing site like this. |

![]() I see what you mean. Your assumption that all paying players will probably or maybe go up to 20 ladder games each is only speculation and maybe not one will want to do that. The 1/10th challenge is the same problem and without the membership they can choose twenty or not anyway. So that doesn't solve it. One idea is to make all tournaments ladder tournaments and then those interested will surely play tournaments and the ladder movement would be immense. Just a thought. |

![]() But playing max games, challenging all I can both above and below me I went from 130 to the 30's in less than 2 months. It is possible, but playing 5-10 ladder games at a time, less the beginning of the months due to the tourneys, it would take forever. |

![]() I have been on for 6 weeks now and the 19 players ahead of me are all maxed unless I happen to log in and see a challenge opening and get there before someone else does. That is the only way to get a ladder challenge. you can`t move up otherwise unless u challenge below--win and move up one spot. You lose a drop one spot. No other way to move up with the one-tenth restriction. |
