Doubling cube and rating points

Is it just me.. Or do others agree that the rating points for doubled games are wrong?

As i see it, there's only a very small penalty for losing a doubled game - so if all you're worried about is rating points you should almost never decline a double.

I think the cube should work to double the points loss. If you're playing against an opponent with the same rating you gain or lose 5pts for a win/loss. If the game is doubled, that only goes to around 6-7pts for the win/loss. So if you are offered the double - you almost have to be staring at a gammon to decline.

If the win/loss changed to 10pts then there is a more rational response required.

Look at Ratings Point Change...

Click on a players profile, just below your personal stats against opp you will see a Ratings Point Change. You can change to G or BG, x2, x4, etc. and see how your ratings would change for win or loss. Remember the formula that is used is not linear, it is quite involved.
