question Hey, Is there any chance of getting real-time and/or unrated games? |

real time? Dragonia, I assume you're referring to something similar to GK's Blitz Chess? With the rolling of the dice as part of each move, I'm not sure how quick it can be. ZE, At the beginning of each game, would it be possible to have a list of rolls stored to each game? That is to say, if an average game takes 30 to 50 rolls, have the computer randomly generate 100 rolls for each player, store it with the game, and then after I move, the next player's roll is automatically displayed. It could speed up the game considerably. Just a thought . . . |

Pokhra I'm not sure what you meant but it's early and I had a lousy night's sleep LOL...I mean I set up a game with a player and we play 'then and there' 'start to finish'...'real time'...no waiting...just like we were playing in the same room at the same time. |

No Problemo P I think you threw me when you said, 'I'm not sure how quick it can be'...surely a real-time game is going to be quicker than games we play now...with sometimes days between moves? I'm not looking at speed for speeds sake...just a nice game with someone in 'real-time' and yes, they can go to the loo and get a cup of coffee LOL |

Nice! I like it too! And hopefully if we're able to play real time games, we should also be able to talk to each other in the game page, that would be nice |

Real time w/ chat good idea! It would be nice to have a real time game and be able to have a conversation with some of the people I've been playing against since I first registered to play. |

realtime I know zero about making a website such as this, or such as anything. But, seems like it would be be a lot of trouble to implement a whole live game-play element. I could be entirely wrong. I love this site, and whomever is behind ZE; but considering how long it takes to add a feature like turning off the cube (midgame so you can skip your forced moves), adding real-time games might take a lifetime. That being said, I don't care if real-time is added, I like this "correspondence" system. Though, a gameknot style comment board would be cool--just so I can say "holy crap! You see that?" everytime the dice pull off a statistical miracle. |

Real-time Messages I agree with dullstone and the others that it would be great to be able to send messages mid-game to comment on a move or dice roll. I know that we could send a normal message to the same effect but given that most of us are playing 25 or more games, those messages get lost amongst all the other messages we receive. Perhaps the ability to turn off messages re loss/win etc in preferences might be a partial solution? |
