Ways to resign I find that at the moment, it is usually almost impossible to resign, because at the point of resignation, usually only a gammon or backgammon resignation is offered. My suggestion: A player should be able to offer a resignation (either standard, gammon or backgammon) to his opponent, and the opponent should decide whether or not to accept the resignation on those terms. Example: I offer a standard resign. If my opponent accepts, the game is over. If my opponent rejects the offer, I must either offer a gammon resignation or continue playing. |

I rarely resign either... I only ever resign when it's mathematically impossible for me to win and I'd only resign with a gammon if it's mathematically impossible for me to avoid losing one and so forth. In short, I very rarely find myself in any situation where I would resign anyway, because, by the time the odds have reduced to mathematical certainty, there are only a handful of moves left to play in the game anyhow. I think it's foolish to resign in any other circumstances, because I regularly lose to players who come back from nigh impossible situations to defeat me by rolling an astronomically unlikely series of rescue rolls. |

agree totally agree with saurus, and support his proposal rule for the resign. Sometimes we're playing just to waisting time - cause we don't want to loose by gammon when its obvious that we're not loosing by gammon but we're not winning also anyway... in that cases we should be able to propose that to the opponent... |

offer the cube The beauty of having the cube to offer is that it speeds up the ending to such games. (or you end up with more points if your opponent accepts, which makes the drawn out game worthwhile) The beauty of being a subscriber is that you have the cube to offer. Become one today. |

Membership With the international exchange rate, the site costs 10 time more for a South African than for an American - 20 times more when you consider the salary differences between the two countries. It would be nice if there was some way to normalize the price for players in other countries... |

a problem If this rule is implemented, then whenever someone tries to resign the opponent would have to agree? If that's the case it might actually slow things down. I usually resign when there's no more chance to win, and at the endgame, where resigning would cost me a normal game anyway. I like to instantly resign and re-challenge the person, or challenge someone else, or join a game. I would NOT like to resign and have to wait for my opponents approval in those cases. I understand that there are cases where it would be interesting to resign a normal game, but that would cost a gammon - but I think implementing this new feature at the cost of disabling automatic resignation (the way it currently is) would be a bad thing. |

the cube Also, about the cube - even when playing with the cube sometimes the person who is winning just doesn't offer the cube... |
