Doubling cube problems

I was playing a game with doubling cube against cmichalopo and we spotted 2 serious problems:

1) After offering the doubling cube, I roll the dice, play and submit. The other player will then be able to accept/refuse the cube only AFTER I make my move, which is not normal.

2) If the other player wants to refuse the cube, he should lose a normal game. However, in our case, refusing the cube cost him a gammon.

This probably happened because he had checkers on the bar, so resigning would have given me a gammon. However, cube refusal should not follow this rule, instead, it should always yield a single game.

It's all about risking

The player who doubles the cube, sometimes risks his advantage, because when the opponent accepts and then you roll, there is a possibility that your position deteriorates.

So yes, definitely your opponent should accept the double first and then you roll.

ZE learns as it goes, so they will fix this soon, but it's good that cube is on now.

But...... only members can initiate a game with cube option  )

Speedingup games.

Ok, I'm playing right now with agora1, and I have him on the bar with a wall of death. Is there any way of speeding it up? Do we still have to keep clicking "roll die" each time? It's taking FOREVER! Or maybe I'm just spoiled.

Re: Speeding up games.

Dear LilWarrior--

Since your opponent is holding the cube, they have to be given the option at each turn to offer the cube, hence no forced turns can occur in that case. You should not have to click 'Roll Dice' each time so that issue will be addressed!

Accepting the cube . . . or not

Here's an example of when NOT to pass the cube ( or at least when I would like to turn it down and accept the normal loss, instead of the possible gammon)

The three issues mentioned in the referenced posts have been fixed!

Doubling cube and the ratings

When offered the cube, it would be nifty if the message read:

ACCEPT and play for "X" points? or RESIGN and lose "Y" points?

I think it would help people make a better informed decision as to resign or play on.The game will end and your rating and stats will be negatively affected.

It could also be added to the "Are you sure you want to resign from this game?" message.

ZE staff, whatdayathink?
