hiccups I'm sure we all knew there would be some hiccups along the way I'd recommend to send a message to your opponent so they can change their preferences at least temporarily... |

Too short All the top players will get through their 3 games in an hour or so. This makes the tournament too short. Maybe we should each player each other twice and then the top 4 play a knockout. ?????? |

ditto thank you for spending time to keep track of this and, i agree 100 percent this will be a learning process.-- we are all learning the restrictions or the confines and abilities of this web site-- one thing that I am confused about is the forced moves option I hae always had mine set on on- thinking that a forced move is something that does not require any decision it is forced- if there is ANY option it would not be forced-- quite honestly I dont know why there would be an option or a desire to turn that off? what would the benefit of that be? I also have only been able to invite ONE game so far with my opponent and waiting for that game to start to invite a second game- (and third)-- I still think these should be 9 or 11 point matches but I dont have the time to organize and appreciate YOUR efforts--in putting this together-- OTHER websites that I have played at in the past have regular scheduled T 's several times a day and are set up for that-- what I like about this web page is that there is NO SUCH THING AS A TIMEOUT- and I can come and go as my schedule or work load allows-- and that comes with slower play and sometimes frustration.. without any question my favorite play is LIVE in person but only have limited opportunities for that format - this is a nice alternative--- I am grateful- TY |

round one finished Stewie challenged me to three games. He won 2 and lost 1. Are we staying with only three games to start? |

Playing FYI KumaraKid and I are already playing our 3 games. Well, I lie, I lost the first one without even breathing, almost, so we're playing the other 2 now. Good luck to all and hope you manage to sort out the hiccups, I didn't have any. Thank you for organising this - fun |

3 Games If the winner is the best out of three, and I win the first 2, then do I have to play the 3rd game? |

3 Games, yes please! Hi whisk01, In my opinion, you don't "have to" as it would be a 2-1 score but isn't it just fun playing especially after somebody has made the effort to create a tournament like this? I hope my opponent doesn't just retire in the third game because he/she's already won 2. Maybe I don't take it seriously enough ... However, thinking about it, if you don't play the 3rd game, you definitely need to challenge (and retire) so ... lalalalalala ... the points are for the "loser" ENJOY YOUR GAMES .... I've only played my opponent 4 times before and I've never beaten him/her so am hoping for a first ... cos 1 out of 3 ain't bad! |

… Thank you all for the comments! I do agree that 3 games format is really short, on the other hand you won't have to wait for a month until the tournament is over. We might want to try best-of-5 format or as sideshowbob2012 is suggesting a group stage that is followed by a knockout round(s). One thing is clear - it will be really hard to reach a consensus. I propose the following - when we are ready for CT #2 we decide who the next host is. This new host might solicit opinion of other players (some kind of voting) or not, but ultimately he/she would be the one to decide the format ONLY for the upcoming tournament. Pretty much like I chose the format for CT #1 Similarly the final format for CT #3 will be determined by the next host. This way we'll try different formats - yes, tournament(s) setup will not be to everyone's liking but that's not even possible to satisfy everyone. |
