From current 7 players 3 or not premium members, So if they are allowed then max ONLY 1 set of games can contain 2 non premium members and probability of it is also less.

In past during Champions Tourney I hv successfully played games with non premium members..I remember we used to offer cube via message/comments, We can use it here also if non premium members are enthusiastic to play. OR they can play games on the format of Best of 9,As we are trying to accommodate so I don't think this will effect other players.

As they say "where there's a will there's a way"..Final decision is of host's whether to permit them or not..Its just my 2 cents saying that If players wanna play then I hv no issue with it

I don't have membership so if that's the rule I'll have to pull out too.

However the cube-by-message rule worked fine before, even if you have to also have to tell the opponent what dice are on the table when you do want to cube; but that only arises when 2 non-members play each other.

Also, why no Crawford rule? That's pretty well used universally.

why do it by message all you have to do is use message in game (put number of move if other player Carry's on they accept double)

I used to play with a group every week, we used to meet the same day the same time every week, we played match play very similar to the format I am proposing. After all this is a meeting place and MOST of the time I do not mind the format of make a move and wait, it works good for me I play when I can - and sneak on line for a few minutes here and there.

What I do NOT get out of this format is the use of the CUBE. there have been a couple of suggestions that it would be the same to play best of 7 one game at a time and that is just not true. The CUBE adds another dimension to the game that literally changes everything.

Another aspect I do not get in the typical format here is instant gratification. WHO WON? sometimes I wish we could just finish, but I am sure just like me we are all jumping on and off line whenever we get a few minutes here and there and I understand that.

BUT---- My vision is that we have a whole lot of really good players here, who obviously all love the game, this is a meeting place, we can all meet here at a specific time and play- with the cube and get our instant gratification on who won... ALL we need are 8 willing participants who have a few hours available at the same time to play a Tournament.

Playing without the cube is NOT an option so unfortunately you would have to be a member, when I came up with this idea I did not even realize that if you were not a member the cube was not available so I am not making a tournament for members only -- I am making a tournament in MATCH PLAY format that would require a membership-- I don't want to water it down or slow up play.

I would like to especially thank ChWaqasAhmed for his worldwide TIME comparison- thank you. I was also asked about the waiting list - or not showing up. Here is my VISION on that too- I am not sure How many members ZE has- but maybe we could get 8 people who would like to play a Tourny like I used to play-- if 8 people are there and ready to play we play with 8 - if less are there we can play with less- but I can not add MORE than 8 because it makes things too complicated (for right now anyway) if we have a regular waiting list that grows to 8 we could expand the field to 16 but that would come later- and might get so big it falls apart---- I think 8 is the number and if you play this week you have a reserved seat for the following week- if you don't play this week you can be put on the waiting list and play as soon as a seat is available---- I think I am rambling... but I think you see what I mean.

This is designed to be just a quick 3 hour Tourny- from start to finish- * people would be optimum but it would work with less-- Everyone needs to understand match play and the CUBE- and also understand that we are also all waiting for you so if a game is mathematically impossible to win - a resignation would be appropriate to keep things moving- all games need to be played to completion.

someone asked about the Crawford rule- and I think that right now-- I want everyone to learn to play with the cube- adding the Crawford rule at this time may confuse some people -- at least it did in the past from my own experience.

Who Knows -- maybe we can do this - but I am willing to try - if I can find 7 other people to try with me at the same time and day - that is the question that remains to be seen-

Please do NOT get discouraged if you are on a waiting list- --- just SHOW UP-- SUnday Morning-- make a pot of coffee-- play some backgammon and have some fun--

7 players -- one would get a bye on the first round--

if we have 6 players - two people would get byes

five players three byes--

4 players - its a 4 man T--NO byes T closed for that week

now if someone shows up late - and wants to jump in they could jump into one of those "bye" seats ---

So what would be the benefit of showing up regular? and playing-- OTHER than saying you won-- points will be given for 1, 2, and third place.

Here is an Idea!! one that I would personally back-up-- After a YEAR- - 2015 Champion would get a prize!!! I will pay for the prize which would be a custom engraved large doubling cube--- but that is IF we can get this thing going-- and obviously I would need a co- chair to fill in for me once in a while IF I cant be there Sunday morning....
