I know I'm down to win this tournament but ... I think I better not participate as will be going on holiday at the end of the month and not sure how often I'll have enough battery/signal to keep up the pace. Thanks abriscoe for your support, and secrets hehe |

Ready, Set, ... Thursday before the Storm here in the States. Are you ready to Rumble??? Looks like we are all set to go with 1 Bracket and everyone playing each other at least once, the format that I love. We may have a couple of stragglers come in, but this is the group! Now is the time to just briefly confirm some things to make sure this tournament is a fit for you. If, like the Cat, you are going on holiday/vacation for several weeks, this may not be the one for you. We are going with just over a month for the round robin, from 7/13/13 to the end of 8/18/13. That gives all of us 6 weekends and 5 weeks to play roughly 23-25 matches to 5 points each. If you don't think you can get that many matches finished in that time frame, please let me know now, as anyone with games left over on 8/19/13 will simply be eliminated along with all of their game results. This is a friendly tournament and as such, I am not going to enforce any heavy penalties (unless it is obviously flagrant and intentional), on the Crawford/Dead Cube Rule violations. If someone (like me in TC#2) accidentally sets up the Crawford Game with the doubling cube on the board, just politely remind them that the doubling cube is not in play that game and play on. Or decline that challenge, and re-challenge them without the doubling cube. If someone accidentally doubles you when the dead cube rule is in play, accept the double, politely note the mistake in your message board, play on, but don't count the points. Make sense? Just common sense and courtesy, as we are all fallible. Please double check your challenge settings, as some of you had challenge settings that made it impossible to challenge you in TC#2. I would recommend just leaving those settings blank for the duration on this and any future tournaments. You can do this on the settings bar above, and click on "My Challenge Criteria". In the comments section of your challenge, please note "TC#3". I noticed we had some matches that didn't start weeks into the tournament for TC#2, so I am asking all of you to make sure ALL of your matches are at least started this weekend, no later than the 14th. If you are having trouble challenging someone, just send a nice reminder via their personal messages, not on the forum. Then if it continues, let me know. Let's keep any issues private and off the public forum boards. Just send me a private message with a link to game in question, and that way we keep the issues from cluttering the board and lessening everyone else's enjoyment of the tournament. Thanks and Good Luck to all you. Have Fun! |
