Tie for 8th position

I believe all players have worked hard to reach a performance level to be in the top 8 . If there are players who tie for 8th position 2 , 3, 4, .... they have a one match game determine who wins the last position 8th position advance to the next rounds.

However recommendation. As referenced we are all trying assist in grass roots effort determine the rules for all the players involved.

I agree a "director committee" GREAT idea perhaps

Love ♥♥♥ recommendation one post of winnings OTHER post for "chatter about the tournament. Easier for the host(s) read the scores for postings

Tie Breaker

One Suggestion as a Former Tournament Director for a Baseball Complex:

1. First Tie Breaker - Head to Head Results ( if the tie is between 2 people). Easy enough!

2. Second Tie Breaker (in the event of more than 2 tied) - Point Differential in just the related head to head games.

Example:
Abriscoe tied with Nightking and TanyaH after the first round for 8th place, all with the same amount of victories.

Take the 3 matches related to just those 3 players and add up the pts won versus points lost. The one with the one highest winning percentage in the games between the tied people advances.. This keeps the results more recent and related to this tournament as opposed to Winning % over varying amounts of time on ZooEscape. It also factors in the risk/reward of using the doubling cube. Like for example, when I lost to Parimer 0-8 because of a foolish double.

what about illegal doubles-??

I lost 16 points in one game becasue the cube was dead and they doubled anyway (illehgally but I was forced to take to see the game to the end--

how do you count that-

I have not been counting points

only matches--

every BACKGAMMON tourny I have played in with matches is WIN or LOSE--

counting points has been suggeted but is just too much to ask and if that were the case I would NOT volunteer my time BECAUSE it is NOT ACCURATE --

WIN or LOSE is difficult enough to keep track of-- and IF there is a tie then I will have to figure out the fairest way--

not to mention the cube (s) plural that were used when the craford rule was in tact - dead cubes - crawford rule infractions counting points going back throu 500 games to record the points certify the points- all sounds so very taxing to me.

sorry.. but thats what I see.
