The game should have been played entirely without the doubling cube to follow the Crawford Rule. r4zzm4t4zz should probably give an official ruling, but I would just accept the double but ignore its value for the purposes of the tournament.

Crawford Rule

uahskr - you are correct. Assuming of course that was the first game that you were on 4. That would be the Crawford Game.
The second and subsequent games that you are on 4, your opponent can double.

Crawford Rule violation

Parimer -- Interesting take. So my question would be, why even bother to state in the tournament rules that we are playing under the Crawford Rule when it can just be ignored? I can foresee a can of worms being opened here. r4zzm4t4zz, what say you?

Crawford Rule

My mistake.
The game will be played with the value of one.

The cube should not have been included when the challenge was made.

No harm done - we will continue as though it is a one point game.

I meant ignore the value of the cube and play the game with a value of one, as sideshowbob2012 said.

Crawford Rule

Slideshowbob2012 -- What you suggest is ok with me as long as it is ok with r4zzm4t4zz. Let's wait to hear the official ruling from the host before proceeding.

Score of 6:0 (Servechilled and lilwarrior)

Just to clarify....can a score of 6:0 be possible using Crawford Rule? Once score is 4:0 the rule applies, so the next possible result would be 5:0 or 4:1 or am I not understanding the Crawford rule?

Yes, a 6-0 score is certainly possible. If the first game the doubling cube is 2 and the result is a backgammon for example. Or if the score is 4-0, and the result of the Crawford Game is a gammon.

Score of 6:0

That makes sense parimer. Thank you for clarifying.
