Well, I'm pretty confident that I'm one of the, if not the, longest member at the site of our little band here, so I'm spealing from experience. All the players at the top are newer members relative to when ZE got started (I think I got in almost on the ground floor. Going back over my pics, cucarina, LAJamil, Artin go way back. Mamont somewhat. So maybe pick from them)

I find the leaders are usually 1) really good, and perhaps become bored with playing people on this site. I've seen some rise to the top, stay there, and leave, so that's how I conclude that. Richard is an exception, and I've been known to paly manot when I was 50-60 ps below him. 2) won't let games or take games like 10-20 points below them, which is ridiculous. Why play? 3) Don't play ladders or tourneys because, it seems, that would hurt their rating.

Those are my thoughts. If anyone fits that bill, it would be those three, but I'm not convinced that's the answer.
