No Gem, there is no need to step up right now and I want to thank you for your flexibility. I still believe who comes first, is first. 😊
I had a long talk with one of the Dutch players who is happy to skip a year, because he and his friend had missed my initial messages.
At this stage we should keep the Dutch-Australian team as it is until we learn from our host whether there is space to split up the existing team into two, under the condition that Kev and you and whisk would be happy to play together in a Commonwealth team. 😊

As we can see:

Germany are short a player.
The Dutch team is not finalised and only three players are showing.
Pakistan are short a player.
Turkey are short a player.


Possibilities:
Plasmon can shift to Germany and allow another player to join the EU.
Yiannakos can quit the UK team and allow a Commonwealth player to join.
Yiannakos can join Turkey as my father and all 4 grandparents were born there.

The current NL/AUS team consists of:

Gem001
Kev Howlett,
Liberty
Annamarina captain

We are still thinking of a good name, as last years name was formed of the first letter of each player.

With Scarrd and Hamilton we could form a Dutch team. Scarrd is definitely available and Hamilton probably too, not yet final.
Still, as Kev and Gem approached me before, and I said yes to both, I cannot break my word, without offering a good alternative, which makes everybody happy.
Whisk from Canada told me that she only withdrew from the NT9 as not a second Canadian team could be formed. A Commonwealth team would be a good alternative for her.
I understand that with another Commonwealth team, there would be 17 teams, which does not really work under the current format.

I am grateful that everybody is so understanding, and willing to offer their place for the other. As a captain, I can only approach people in time and repeat my invitation. Then I have to let it go and see what happens.

Teams had enough time to declare their participation. The 16- team format with teams of 4 players works good. It would be unfortunate to ruin a functioning format for the sake of more incomplete teams. Not only captains of incomplete teams, but also players seeking a team to play for can contact eachother in order to complete the existing teams instead of making more and more incomplete teams sometimes with only 2 players. If there are too many players, maybe some teams can have an extra player as substitute like in many sports (host?).

Germany, Pakistan and Turkey are short one player.

I'll reiterate my offer to play for Turkey if a British or Commonwealth player wishes to join the UK team. (Whisk01 or one of the Australians off the Dutch squad?)

Perhaps Scarrd or Hamilton would like to play for Germany?

Maybe ChWaqasAhmed would like to pick one of the players mentioned?

Yiannakos, as a first time NT player, I'm happy to be in any team.
The most logical move for me is to accept your offer to take your spot in the British team, where we share the same queen. That will give Scarrd their rightful place in team NL.

Are you sure ?
This is so generous of you !!!
Kev also offered to give his place to Scarrd & I really have difficulties to accept both of your generous offers .
We hardly know each other, but I do know Kev & Scarrd & Yiannakos very well & I feel whatever I choose, I let somebody down.
Therefore It seems only just to me to stick to this “who’s first, cones first rule” and yes, I would love to have Scarrd people on the Dutch team.
I apologise for being emotional.
