Nations Tourney - next round

I just checked the results page at:

http://unofficialzootourneys.wordpress.com/

And I'll admit I'm a bit confused whether USA2 is continuing to the next round. Anyone care to enlighten me? Thanks in advance!

OK, the picture is this:

Iran and USA1 are through to the final round.

Australia are leading UK1 5-3 with four games to go.
Should Australia win just one of those four games, they will go through and take USA2 with them into the final round.
Should UK1 defeat Australia by winning all four games, UK1 will go through to the final round and take UK2 with them as the 4th best team.

Which brings me once again to my question:
Has ozboy completed either of his games against Peter_Hill or AJ1968? If so, let's have the results.

Btw...

Apparently, dragonia of Australia has withdrawn from competition.
According to the rules, Australia have three days (ending 10:00 am GMT Sunday 13/10/2013) to recruit another player or dragonia's remaining games will be forfeited.

Ozboy and Wallaby66 will be notified.

Thanks!

Wallaby66,

Remember that NZSG (formerly Australasia2) have been eliminated from further competition so KumaraKid, TawnyaH and RF1963 are eligible for selection.
If you prefer to retain an all-Australian lineup, you can try my nemesis davidhorton

Thanks for the update, but I'm still confused. If UK1 wins it's remaining four games they'll go on and take UK2 as the fourth best team??? No offense to the UK2 players, but how is beating CAN1 7-5 "better" than USA2 beating NZ/S 6-3?

And how is USA1, which tied SA 6-6, already in?

It may be based on points scored (perhaps including points from previous rounds?), but I'd respectfully offer that it should be based on winning percentage if the number of teams - and therefore the number of games played - is different.

Just my two cents.

@pokhra

The results of all 3 match days are taken into consideration when figuring out the standings.
Please see http://unofficialzootourneys.wordpress.com/ as to the point system and the standings.

As to the tie-breakers:
1. Should Australia win...
a. they will go through as group winners (along with Iran and USA1)
b. USA2 will be the only team to have drawn for the lead in their group and thus will go through as the 4th team.

2. Should Australia lose...
a. UK1 will go through as group winners (along with Iran and USA1)
b. USA2 are no longer the only team to have drawn for the lead in their group.
c. UK2 will go through to the next round with the better percentage of wins:
UK2 ------- .550
USA2------ .533
Australia - .500

Australia 1 Team

I have been asked if I want to join and I must confess that although a kiwi (from New Zealand) and despite the fact that Australians and Kiwis always compete as rivalling brothers I have lived in Australia for 5 years (like many of us kiwis) and would be happy to join them and i almost qualify.

Australia - UK1

KumaraKid will replace dragonia and pick up the two games she did not play - against Cailleach and Peter_Hill.
