The tournament of nations is a friendly competition amongst members of zooescape to promote camaraderie with fellow countrymen and friendship with members of foreign lands. 

Respect your opponents at all times. 

Play fast: 
 *  no stalling  
 * Turn "Automatic Dice Rolls" - on. 
    (Settings->MY PREFERENCES->Automatic Dice Rolls->on (radio button)) 
    There are predetermined situations, there is no point in waiting.

The basic rule of the NT is to play fast.
If everybody would stick to this rule, the NT could have finished easily by the end of November.  

I have just convinced a player from a different team not to switch on the vacationmode now as this would be unfair towards the other players of the tourney. Therefore I am wondering:

- Does a team gets disqualified when a player goes on vacation mode ?
- Is it possible that a schedule can made with deadlines, so that this tourney can at least be finished before 23rd of December

I am interested in other players point of views and how are we going to handle the holiday season between 23rd of December until January 6th. At least I would really like to have a time off then, but of course I am loyal to my team and to the tourney.

I am with Anna Marina. The rule for NT is to play fast, so if you can not play fast, do not play and hold up all others. That should be the same rule for all tournaments. A game does take around 25 moves. If play 1 move every day the maximum would be 1 month for a game, which is for me quite slow, but that should be the maximum time that should be allowed. When you play 1 move in the morning and 1 in the night, you finish in maximum 2 weeks, which is not too much to ask for. That does take maybe 10 minutes of your time in a day. If you do not have 10 minutes a day, you should not play the NT.

Also the players that are holding up a tournament, should not be allowed to play again. So we should get a blacklist. That would properly speed up the tournament. It is really only fun when you do play quick. Our team EU, we finished all our games in just a few days.

How strange is this - we all want fast game, but the Tournament flow slow  

abt.1point - (...vacation mode...) i found this in our rules :

Substitutions:
Should a team's player withdraw from further competition or leave on holiday (vacation) for more than one week, he should decline the games in any match and inform his team's captain of his decision.
In that case,
* a 4-man team may continue to play as a 3-man team or attempt to recruit a new member within three days
* a 3-man team shall attempt to recruit a new member within three days. Should that attempt fail, the third member's games shall be deemed as forfeited.

A substitute may not be recruited from another team unless that team has already been eliminated from further competition.

i think its not good idea to make changes in rules in progress this Tournament, maybe - in next edition.
