Topic: Nations Tournament 4?

substitutes

We always had 3 or 4-player teams.
There seem to be an excess of Iranian players in this tourney. It may be a good idea to keep them around as substitutes as few players from that country are paying members and are therefore limited to the number of games they can play.

Rules

Two basic questions:
What are the general rules of this tournament?
What time it begins?
Thank u for reply.

Rules

General:
The tournament of nations is a friendly competition amongst members of zooescape to promote camaraderie with fellow countrymen and friendship with members of foreign lands.

Format:
A team shall consist of three or four players.
The 16 teams of Nations Tournament 4 will be divided by lot into four groups.
Competition will see each team play the other teams in its own group once. A team v. team match shall consist of each of the three or four members of a "home" team challenging each of the three or four members of the "visiting" team to a 3-day backgammon game.

The final round shall consist of a head-to-head competition amongst the four group winners and the four runner-ups.

Recording victories:
When a game between individual players is completed, the victor will announce his victory in the NT4 - results thread. The host will keep track of scores in each nation v. nation match and post these in the same thread. The host will post the standings after each match day is completed.

Points awarded:
A team shall receive two pints for a victory, one point for a draw.
The standings shall show a team's victories and points
E.g.
1. TeamA 5-4 2 points
2. Team B 4-5 0 points

Tie-breakers:
The group winners shall be the team with the most points. Should two or more teams end up even on points within a group, the tie-breakers, in order, are:
1. Victory percentage
2. Head-to-head competition between the two teams
3. A one-game playoff

Substitutions:
Should a team's player withdraw from further competition or leave on holiday (vacation) for more than one week, he should decline the games in any match and inform his team's captain of his decision.
In that case,
* a 4-man team may continue to play as a 3-man team or attempt to recruit a new member within three days
* a 3-man team shall attempt to recruit a new member within three days. Should that attempt fail, the third member's games shall be deemed as forfeited.

A substitute may not be recruited from another team unless that team has already been eliminated from further competition.

Tournament start date

Personally, I would like to start competition on Monday 7 December 2015 and get the first matches completed before the Christmas holidays.

Are we in agreement with that?

Rules (for novice)

Is this right?

group = 4 teams: A, B, C, D
games in group: 3 series – 4 games
A-B - > 4 games in seria: A1-B1, A2-B2, A3-B3, A4-B4
variants results: 4:0, 3:1, 2:2, 1:3, 0:4
respectively points are: 2:0, 2:0, 1:1, 0:2, 0:2
max points in seria: 2
3 series for every team(A-B, A-C, A-D)
max points in group: 6

@Rossignol

You understand most things I wrote down but a match (country v. country) consists of each of the four players of that country playing each of the players of the other country.
If both countries have 4 players, there will be 16 games in that match (4x4)
