I suppose if we went to 20 teams we could have 5 groups of 4. 1st place in each group, plus top three 2nd place, make up the final 8 quarter-finalists.

This nations tournament seems to form very chaotic. Obviously we need some strict rules with regard to the format of the tournament and the formation of groups. As long as we keep it open, new members join and incomplete teams are formed. I share the idea of the user Esprit with regard to allowing only 4.-member teams and using a 4x4 format for the tournament.

According to the recent list published by the user Yainnakos there are still many incomplete teams; some even represent the same country. Maybe we should consider stopping the uncontrolled formation of new teams and asking new players to join, while we have already too many incomplete teams. It would be very helpful if incomplete teams of 3 members rearrange the teams or merge with eachother the way, so that we have 16 teams of 4 members instead of 19 team with lots of incomplete ones.

Please keep in mind we are recruiting players this month, with the tournament starting in September. With 10 days still left in the month, there is still time to round out teams or to consolidate if we cannot get enough to field 20 teams. I am of the opinion the more the merrier.  

With that said, blohkin/espirit suggestions of editions to the rules have been added to the website, as we agreed they encourage fair and quick play, and you'll see they were published over the weekend when I had a chance to work on getting the NT7 page up (not yet complete, but well on its way).

I would ask each of you to remember the goal of this is to **HAVE FUN** and get to know your fellow players. Enjoy the games!

We are trying to accommodate people who want to join NT7 into teams, not accommodate teams at the expense of people.

As there is more interest in NT7 than in previous tournaments, we have the pleasant problem of leaving a comfortable 16-team format. That's fine with me. I asked for opinions as to how this should be handled, set forth three options and nobody responded. That's also fine with me as I will use my own judgement in such a case.

Recruitment is still open. Is anyone else interested?
Do you want to recruit your own team? You are welcome to do so. Send a couple of messages left and right, it's not too hard.
