Suggestion

I know most of you are looking forward to CT # 4. We need to be smart by starting CT #4 after September 1. August is probably the most popular month of the year for taking a vacation.

I agree with Steelerhead

Here is USA --- August is a busy month with vacations, and back to school for many families, plus other distractions. Recommend to start T4 maybe after September 4th . Perhaps we can push long finishing T2 and T3 in August .

Reporting Results and TC#4

One of my earlier posts asked for the winners to report the scores since they have the most to lose by not reporting. We have a great group here and a lot of non-winners went ahead and reported. Let's just say the winner is responsible for making sure that the correct result and the correct score were posted by someone.

1 match left and I am done. Already having withdrawals. Anyone interested in taking the ball and running with it as far as hosting TC#4? KumaraKid has told me he enjoys the charts and wants to continue that end of it which is great news.

a little help

i was down in a game 2-0
and during next game cube was at 4...
means my opponent could won the MATCH after simply winning that game
but he raised the cube to 8...i sent him/her a msg that cube was dead for him...
(what i have understood from uakshr's above post)

But he replied dead cube refers to 4:4 game...so he/she was right...

Any how i hv admitted him right but i hv confusion...so a little help pz

Reply to chwaqasahmed

From my understanding, your opponent was mistaken. If a player will win a match with a regular win at the current cube setting, then they can not redouble. I am happy to be corrected but I am pretty certain that this is how it is.

From what you have said though it only benefits you so no need to worry. If your opponent had not redoubled to 8 he would still win match with a game win and you would go up 4-2 with a game win. Since they redoubled either of you will win if you win this game.

help

I think chwaqasahmed was right: the opponent could have won at 6-0 and therefore the cube should have been dead.
The 4 wins rule is the Crawford rule where the game is played without the cube.
This is a first tournament for many of us and there is a bit of confusion. For me it has been a learning experience and, I guess, it has been so for others.
My thanks to blokhin2, abriskoe and several others who helped me understand the rules.

@KumaraKid,
I don't think CA's opponent should be allowed a 10-0 win. If he wins, he should only get a 6-0 score.

Yiannakos- correct

abriscoe would have to adjust points score for results should either player need it to get in top 8.

dead cube rule

Referring to the question about the dead cube rule.
I think there is a problem with the rule in the context that chwaqahmed described.
I was the one who doubled him in this moment.
I believed that I could double as the cube still had the influence on the game.
I mean that the cube is not only a gambling tool but also a strategic tool which eliminates the influence of luck in the game . I practically won the game and the match. The only way my opponent could win is that he is very very lucky and gets double dice at the end of the game. The cube in such circumstances serves as an argument to make the opponent to withdraw not hoping for the luck. So I think the cube should be allowed till the end if the game started with the cube.
