So no human being who plays here should be allowed to have a life? They must interrupt their honeymoon, surgery, or cruise at least once every three days. Sorry, that is not a very well thought out statement.

Honey

Than shouldn't they surge, cruise or moon in just friendly games?

And ladder.

How sad it is

that there are people in this world who have nothing in their life more important than a computer game.

A strategy

Whitedice,
reading your comments about taking suspicious vacations, I noticed that one of guys in my February tournament group is on vacation for a week now, but his profile status shows that he is online several times everyday!
I guess he wants to see the result of other games first and then decide whom he should beat to become the winner of this group  )

Re-A strategie

Thank you, Artin 76, first of all, for responding to the matter.
The case I was referring to is now playing regularly, and wins them all, up to now. But that player
didn't take just a week. Taking vacation from day one until you're out of possibilities to do so is annoying, and shouldn't be allowed in tournaments.

Interesting thought Whitedice.

It would be a great idea, however, as you can see, these 3 days per move tournaments take up to 4 or 5 months as evidenced by tournaments one and two which are the only ones finished or close to finished. Therefore you can't expect people to not take vacation in 5 months. I suggested in another post to reduce the time between rounds to the 3 day rule to save 4 days(instead of the 7 day break in the rules) in between each round. that might save 16 days in a 4 round tournament. That would help.Vacation days are a staple of this format of so many days per move. It would be nice if committed players would finish a round in two weeks and with a 3 day break between weeks to confirm tournaments would finish much faster.
Not sure this would work but here is an idea:
Zoo could set a rule that after two weeks the leader of each group moves on unless the leader is delaying on purpose in losing matches to preserve his/her lead. Things get complicated.

Complicated

I didn't expect it to be easy, but is it so dificult to not subscribe to a tournament, if your planning a vacation?

Evidenced?

Take holidays out, and tournaments wouldn't take that long.
