TOURNY RULES
All standard rules of Backgammon are in force, any questions will-be answered by the current Tourney director and his/her ruling will be final. All games will be played with a doubling cube. This is match play, round one and two are nine point matches and the final is an eleven point match. The loser bracket will be seven point matches. Assignments will be communicated by message direct from me to you.
FORMAT-This will be an eight person Tourney. First, Second and Third places will be recognized. The reserved seats will be randomly drawn by the Director at some time before the T. After the seats have been assigned; in the first Round, Seat One will play Seat two, seat three will play seat four, seat five will play seat six, and seat seven will play seat eight. All games are to be started immediately and played until the match is complete. AGAIN, the First Round and second round matches are to nine points, the final match is to eleven points. Cube always in play, no Crawford rule, but there will be a dead cube rule enforced. In order to keep everything moving as quick as possible the second round and loser matches will be assigned on first done first in by the Tourney Director via message system.
SETTING THE GAME UP-The first seat will always challenge the second seat. (For example one challenges two) When starting a game make sure the variant box is set to Backgammon, and time per turn is set to two days (although games will be played till completion)- only when all games are completed can you move to next round, if you are loser you should resign the game before leaving or moving to losers bracket. Carefully type your opponents name in the box available, only one game should be played at a time and moves should be made as soon as possible until game is over, no waiting. If for whatever reason five minutes pass with no moves, the director will declare a winner if one at all. Also please note that No minimum or maximum rating requirements should be set for your opponent, AND CHECK BOTH BOXES the rated box and the doubling cube box.- no exceptions..
COMMUNICATION- All results should be sent by message to me alacran by the winner. I will respond and advise you of your current status, who you will play next, or any other information that you may need. When the Tournament is done, I will post just the results in this forum. I will communicate with each and every one of you as information is available, if you go offline you are in default. Which brings me to another RULE- you MUST SHOW YOUR ONLINE STATUS. Sorry if you don’t like that but I must see that you are online in order to assign a match to you. If you have your online status hidden – I can not help you.

Enough rules for now- I am sure I left something out- but I will update as I think of situations.
