![]() I agree with Achilles. If someone needs to do this to boost their ego, just let them; it does not win them friends or love or money, or anything real. I've been playing nearly three years here...never figured it was worth it to try and 'game' the ladders...I just like to play backgammon! |

![]() I run into this issue in tournaments and it's very poor gamesmanship but it's still within the rules to take the max time. Perhaps a quick tournament where the time frame is 12 hours per move instead of 3 days. Players that don't play the games their losing should be banned period. After all the reason I play the game is to "play" not to sit around waiting. |

![]() There are definitely people who are selective about which games they play, which is annoying for those who just want to get on with the game. Something that might help, but like many of my strategies in backgammon I may not have thought it through enough is the following. If the site forced a player to play their game that had the least amount of time remaining, the player would at most only be able to make one move in each of their "preferred" games before being forced to play their losing games. They may still decide to wait out the 3/max days but they would have to do this for all their games and so hopefully see it as futile and either play within the spirit or leave the site. Forced turns could be the exception to the rule. |

![]() My question is this; Are there any admins for the game that actually care and have the ability to make changes? I truly have no idea haven't been playing here long enough. Or is this another one of those sites where the 'owners' just don't really care about it enough to make any global changes to solve a problem that most all of the people playing are upset about? Hence all of our suggestions/comments fall on deaf ears. |

![]() I propose that tournament matches can not be postponed. does not seem fair that dozens of people waiting on one or two who did not feel like the game or go on vacation |

![]() Don't get me wrong, I'd never do it myself, always moving the next move that comes up, but I can see why someone might want to do it... to aim for a high rank or ladder position. Ultimately I think it's very childish behaviour but its within the rules so we can't complain. I'd like to go for the 'play them at their own game' but haven't got the motivation to keep skipping to the next game after every move. Like I say, I just play the next move that automatically loads up each time. |

![]() I said in my last post these people aren't breaking any rules so maybe we need to ask for a rule change. I don't agree with Sorin67's idea to stop people postponing tournament games. It wouldn't be fair on a genuine player that goes on holiday. I agree with kumarakid that players should not be allowed to turn off the forced moves. I also think after someone moves, a max of 1 day should be added to their remaining time e.g. If someone waits til there's 5 minutes remaining, their time should increase to 1 day and 5 minutes for their next move. |

![]() Stylas, I made a proposal only game of the tournament. If you know you go on vacation, do not participate in the tournament. If someone in my list interrupts the game for 30 days, I do not mind, but I mind waiting two months to finish a competition round, and not fair to expect dozens of people to finish one holiday person |
