Improvements

Firstly, I love the site. Maybe too much.....

But, improvements are needed:

1) Comments would be great, as mentioned on another thread.
2) Ability to double. Greatly enhances the game.
3) BIGGEST: Gammons and Backgammons. How can one play Backgammon without the ability to ... backgammon? Credit really needs to be given for gammoning. Perhaps all it would mean is winning 2 games instead of one against the same opponent. But earning the same "booty" for a good waxing as for winning by one roll just doesn't seem quite right.
4) No moves. Take the extra click away. If one player can't move, the other should be able to roll and roll until both can move again.

Just my thoughts.

I agree completely..

I've commented on 1-3 on other threads. Particularly the Doubling cube. It would speed the games up and with gammon & backgammon, it would diversify the ratings!
I had to ponder on the No-Move Idea. I'm all for it, but I'd like a quick note just to let me know you were rolling away on me! It'd help me decide to decline a double

Improvements

Hello and thanks for the feedback! All of the suggestions will be addressed in future releases, some sooner than others due to implementation time. Keep an eye out for them and thanks for your support of our website!

Cheers

Improvements

Kudos to the team that put together this wonderful website - the way it stands at the present! You've done a wonderful job, both technically and esthetically. I'm sure top notch improvements will be forthcoming.

I'm enjoying the website wholeheartedly, because of this sites uniqueness, allowing the time to play a game with the utmost in quality and consideration, taking 2-3 days to make a decision on an exceptionally difficult move. I'm already finding I am playing the best backgammon I've ever played, simply because, during a faster game played over a matter of minutes, one gets caught up in the faster pace and misses much better moves at critical junctures throughout the game. Oh well, enough of that.

I'm going to key off of "lilwarrior's" thoughts and make this suggestion in regards to the following:

1) "Comments," I'm sure, will develop in the future.
2) Playing with or without the Doubling Cube is only a matter of preference. Playing with it, one's skills tend to be focused on both the Cube and the position (the Cube being an added extra dimension), while not arriving at endgame positions (unless the Cube is redoubled once or twice) as often as when playing without the Cube. My suggestion - just make it a thing to check in "Your Preferences" as to whether you want to play using the Cube.
3) Same thing on the "No Moves," make it a thing to check in "Your Preferences."

Auto Refresh

I suggest to add a click button- Auto Refesh (See Gameknot Chess) so that way, you know it is your turn without clicking refresh button again and again.......

Re: Improvements and Re: Auto Refresh

We recently introduced gammons and backgammons! On the to-do list, not necessarily in priority order: doubling cube; automatic moves when no moves or only one move (as a preference); messages; and auto refresh!

As always, thank you for the constructive remarks and thank you for playing Backgammon!

Zooescape choosing which game comes next

FRUSTRATION COMMENT - Often there is a game that I want to think much more about. But when I make a move in another game, Zoo automatically takes me to the game I want to think more about.

SOLUTION - Have games go in a rotation, so that I don't keep coming back to a game that I don't want to think about right now.

comment - I think the gammons and backgammons are working great. Very fair, and much more indicative of who the so-so, good, and great players are.

Zooescape choosing which game comes next

I think I have thought of the perfect, no frills, easy fix solution.

There is a "Next Game" button that pops up when I'm scanning through games sometimes. But it doesn't appear always.

Simply make that button appear all the time! This would reduce my frustration greatly for now, and I can move onto another game that I do want to make a move on.

Hunh hunh? Whaddya think?
