cavvie etc You can use the in game messages to cube, but the opponent doesn't see it until they look at the game, which they mightn't normally do until it's their move. alacran, non-members can be challenged by members to a cube game. There is a solution to the situation where 2 non members are playing each other, and while 3 of the first 8 to sign up were not members I don't see why you want to exclude these players, if they are keen. |

complicated you said it yourself, they might not look at the game until its there move, it would also require you to set the dice to be manual as opposed to automatic, and I am not even sure if that is an option here-- it gets very complicated on many levels- you would have to double BEFORE you rolled and the messages don't say WHEN you wrote the message- in between roll X and X. too large a margin for miscommunication, errors, and confusion- I like the thinking outside the box- but Keep it simple seriously. Setting the dice on manual (if possible would slow the games down-- I am committed to running a Sunday morning Tournament for those who would like to play match play on ZE, I will give my devoted attention to detail and fairness but I have to be firm on following my rules-- who knows maybe it wont work, only time will tell, we still don't have 8 people who want to commit to play... I will give it a few weeks to see how it pans out... ALacran |

Dead cube-- if there is a reason to double, and you own the cube, you can double. a dead cube is basically a double for no apparent reason other than to run the score up to MORE than the match points... for example. Lets assume in the first game the score is 0-0-- in a 9 point match. Player a Doubles to 2, later in the game player b redoubles to 4, then player A redoubles again to 8. The cube is not dead because 8 would not decide the match. but lets go a little further and say player B doubles again to 16-- at this point the cube would be dead - the match is to 9 points and the winner of this game wins the match. If player A doubled back to 32 points there would be no justification for that--- he would merely be doing that to "run up" the score--- depending on the score and where you are in the match a cube COULD BE dead at any value - what determines a dead cube is if there is a reason to double.... if you have more questions on that please let me know-- it does make a difference -- and this rule will be enforced... for in this format you can NOT undo a double. and if you decline the double you would lose the game-- so if someone doubles a dead cube they will be disqualified. |

NEW HEADING-- Tomorrow morning I will communicate with everyone at the same time, assign matches and look for results under a NEW HEADING in the Forums. Look under Sunday Rollers MATCH Dec 14th-- you can just check in there if you like when you arrive tomorrow morning ( hard to say tomorrow morning when we are talking world wide-- that's a GREAT thing... I am hoping for a good turnout- we have seven registered that will give one of us a bye in the first round-- if we can keep the play moving along I am hoping the FINAL match will be complete in aprox 2.5 or 3 hours. See you over there.. |
