BBL-18 is now OPEN Friends, I wanted to welcome all 36 returning players to our BBL-18 tournament! Based on the snapshot of participants’ ratings as of May 26, we continued with the four-group seeding and all games can now begin! Each group has nine players, so each of you will play 8 games on the group stage. The top FOUR (new!) players from each group will go to the 1/8 finals (new!), with the playoff portion of the tournament will use the best-of-three match format (BG ONLY - new!). As always, I would like to reiterate that this is a blitz league and when you signed up, you agreed to play fast, abide by the rules and code of conduct, and timely report individual results on our BBL website. IMPORTANT: Please update your challenge criteria to ensure you can be challenged by your group opponents OR make sure you challenge them yourself first! All of your group games must be started by June 1! In order to see who your group opponents are, please go to the home page of the BBL website (https://tinyurl.com/ze-bbl - bookmark this page!) where you will find the link to the Results page. Everything is set up on that page, including a ZE challenge link for each group opponent, created for your convenience. Click that link for each of your group opponents and your BBL-18 challenge will automatically open on ZE. The home page of the BBL website also has the result submission form which the winner of each individual game should fill in upon completion of the game in the following format: Player A - Player B 1:0, Gammon (if applicable). Remember to submit your results within 24 hours of completion to avoid any delays. I intend to update the results multiple times a day as I get automated notifications on your result submissions. Please review the results page often, and, if you are not seeing some of your results, please don’t hesitate to submit them even if you lost a game. Your assistance here is greatly appreciated. A few additional suggestions to speed up the games: a) Communicate with your opponents to see what time of the day is best for both of you to be online. b) If you happen to be on the losing side and your game is out of reach, consider resigning and updating the website with the result yourself as your opponent might not notice that the game was over. As usual, feel free to connect with me directly if you have any issues, questions, or concerns Best, Leoton https://tinyurl.com/ze-bbl |

@BossyBear Thank you for the catch - the Rules page is now updated to "three backgammon games" for the playoff format. Appreciate your help! Leoton |

BBL-18 is completed! Congratulations to Steelerhead on his THIRD BBL trophy! He is the first player who was able to win three tournaments in our league! A big round of applause to all playoff participants: BossyBear - Finalist Maxmator and Differentname - Semifinalists Nightking, Isnogood_68, Slimshadey, and Gem001 - Quarterfinalists Mariusadi, Tatcat, Estorba, Howler, Jart238, Liberty, Pakenstrip, and BossyKitten - Sweet 16 participants As usual, all players who made the playoffs, received their bonus points in the overall League Leaderboard. Please check the current standing on our website. A huge thank you to everyone who played the fastest tournament ever in our history. It took just 17 days to complete from start to finish, even with an extra round added to the playoffs! Looks like the latest changes were pretty successful and well accepted by the players, so we will keep this format for the upcoming tournaments… Thank you all of you who provided feedback! Really appreciated. See you all in BBL-19 soon. Registration will be open in about a month. Best, Leoton |
