Good luck!

Group D scenarios

As the USA2 team have clinched victory in Match Day 2, the scenarios for qualification in group D has become more clear.
Texas lead the group with 4 points, USA2 have 2, Romania and Pak-Iran have 1.
The final group matches are:
Pak-Iran v. Texas
Romania v. USA2

Texas: have clinched qualification to the knockout stage regardless of the Match Day 3 result

USA2: go through with a win. Should they draw, they can also go through unless Pak-Iran defeat Texas with a score large enough to give them a better percentage than USA2

Romania: will go through with a victory over USA2. Any other result will eliminate them.

Pak-Iran: Need a victory with a score large enough to give them a good percentage plus they must hope that USA2 do not win v. Romania.

stalling tactics

Could somebody explain to me what possible advantage one might get by slowing a game down..To a point where a game is almost decided?...I like playing this game and consider myself an average player ..however if there is some possible advantage to be gained by stalling games I would love to be informed of it..because otherwise I'm not getting it..and neither are my team....this is why I could not get an Australian team together...we don't have a great deal of patience for this form..It's only a game of backgammon ..let's get things in perspective...with all respect to those who play the game in the right spirit, obviously
